I know, it's not much. Guess I took an unintentional break from sewing this past year. Life got in the way.
But I hope to change that in the coming year. My new sewing space is almost done. Still tweaking where to put things and how to organize, but hopefully soon, I'll be done. Then I can get busy with the many UFO's I have lying around. I seem to be great at starting in on quilt-alongs, but not finishing the quilt up, so I want to change that this year.
My goal for this year is to work on, and hopefully complete, one UFO and one gift per month. That way, come the end of November, I'll have my Christmas gifts done and can sit back and enjoy the season.
How about you? Do you set any crafting/sewing/needlework type of goals for the year?

I know I'm a little late in posting my Friday Night Sew-In results, but I decided to make a weekend of sewing, since I haven't done it in awhile. It felt good to get back into it.

Considering I hadn't thought of fabrics or anything when I started sewing Friday night, I'm happy to have the top done. It's a mini quilt which is a free pattern, so kindly provided by Kathleen Tracy. It is part of a year long challenge to make mini quilts; find it HERE.

I might just make this one into a pillow instead. Now off to catch up on all the things I should have been doing this weekend!

Friday Sew-In time is here!

I wasn't going to sign up this time, but at the last minute, I have. I haven't sewn in a long time and I need the push. My sewing area is a disaster as my wonderful hubby is making me a new area to work in. But tonight, I'm going to dig out the machine and see what I can do. I think it will be a mini quilt. Best get going on it.

FNSI results

I decided to pull out an old UFO to work on last night. This is what I started with...

What are they? Well it's the start of a market bag, with outer pockets on each side. 

But I didn't get too far on it. Kinda got sidetracked in watching Nik Wallenda complete the wire walk across Niagara Falls. We talked of going to see it as it's not far from us, but then decided against it due to the crowds. I'm so glad he made it!

Anyways, I did manage to get the outer part done with lots of top-stitching.

Why do cats always do this, just when you're about to take a picture? Both of mine do it all the time!

 Now I'm working on the lining with some inner pockets and the handles. So it's not done, but at least it's further along than it was, and I think I'll get it finished now.

Yes, it's time again for the Friday Night Sew-In!

FNSI results ~ more dresden plates

Woohoo! My final two dresden plates are done! So now comes the applique and finishing of this quilt. I really hope to keep working on this one, so it doesn't become another one of my many UFO's.  Perhaps I'll use these FNSI's to only work on it; then maybe it has a chance of getting done!
